I know a lot of people talk about making money online, but many of them have no concept of exactly how it can be done. I use a process called Affiliate Marketing to make money online, and I make money each and every day. I do it with diversification, and I have developed multiple streams of income in this process.

Many people use auction sites to buy goods at lower prices, then they turn around and sell the goods at a higher price. This is a very labor intensive type of work, involving shipping and receiving from their business location.

I do something much different than that, and I am a middle man in the process. I use Affiliate Programs and Affiliate Networks to market goods and services online. I sell things online by way of niche specific sites and content rich informational marketing pages, a process I have been using for a long time. I never have to ship goods, and I never deal with returns. I am a true middle man and I simply collect commissions when sales are made through my affiliate links on websites and blogs.

I specialize in health, sports, shopping, home business and affiliate marketing services. Within each of those categories are many thousands of affiliate programs which I can join for free, and then I market the products or services online. I provide the content by which the search engines, when queried by web searchers, display my pages and the searcher clicks my links, and then when they buy, I earn commissions. It is a great deal for the merchant, paying only when a sale is made.

There are typically 2 ways to earn money in affiliate marketing; First, by selling products directly on content pages and small niche sites. Secondly, by recruiting affiliates into the 2nd tier and earning overrides from their sales. I participate in many in-house affiliate programs featured on my website, and in affiliate networks that are both single tier, and 2 tier programs.

Another way is to use blog RSS feeds to proliforate your posts on other member driven sites. This gives each post a wider audience and consequently more conversion opportunities. Read about this at my Affiliate Marketing Blog.

If you promote successfully 10 to 20 programs in different niche markets, it is possible to earn a substantial monthly income. This is not MLM, but it is a process called 2-Tier Marketing, and this has become the most successful model on the internet today. I concentrate on 2 tier programs, but I do use some single tier programs as well.

Many online marketers concentrate on just one single program in all their efforts, but I don't recommend that strategy. If the program you select goes out of business, gets sold, changes program terms or whatever, you can be out in the cold with no protection and all of your efforts are wasted. The key phrase is, "don't put all of your eggs in one basket". I seek and find solid network foundations with high standards to work with. I get my merchant products mostly through Affiliate Networks.

On the other hand, diversification is a much better strategy in affiliate marketing. I have developed many different online campaigns in many different niche markets, so if one does change or go away, I simply replace it with a similar one and move on with only a small disruption in my income. In this way I truly can make the claim that I have developed "multiple streams of income".

I have had great success marketing Health Products through a variety of excellent herbal and natural product affiliate programs. I also love to promote sports related products, and I put a lot of time and effort into promoting online retail shopping merchant sites as well. If you think about it, there are literally tens of thousands of niche markets out there which can be promoted with affiliate content.

When I make a website or blog, I tweak the keywords, page content and links to get high rankings in search. My affiliate links are included within the content of each presentation. I call what I do "Affiliate SEO Content Publishing" which is a phrase I believe comes closest to describing how I structure my content. I always look for ways to make the content better, more current and effective within the niche I am working in. Good content gets good rankings in search.

I have developed linking platforms which are themselves indexed pages in market sectors. When I first create a new content page, I decide which platform it belongs on, and then I link the new content page to that platform. After that I separately promote and submit each content page individually. Also I have a network of blogs that I link the new content page to, and the result is that each new production I make starts out with links pointing to it.

One of my linking platforms is a blog on another domain which allows me to add sidebar links. It is very well indexed in search, so adding unencumbered links directly to my new pages creates an instant ranking backlink. I always recommend that new affiliates look for these kind of resources and use them in accordance with their respective TOS. Free blogs sites are a great tool for marketers in this way. Of course, you have to be sure the content of the free blog meets high standards.

My affiliate marketing programs are mostly linked to my main site, with a few exceptions (new programs I am experimenting with). I receive payments from different networks and individual affiliate programs through online payment services, ACH and by checks in the mail. Overall I receive 20 to 30 different payments every month. I have never had so much fun making money. It is really an interesting and enjoyable way to make money, and I can work in my pj's if I want to.

If working in your own home office excites you, then maybe Affiliate Marketing is your cup of tea. I love it! There are really no limits in this business. Make as much money as your ability and ingenuity will allow. Don't think it all comes overnight though, because it takes time to mature in this business. Learn how it works by continuous reading, researching, testing, publishing and experimentation online. My website is a good starting point, but it is not an end all.
